RO-Wine | The International Wine Festival of Romania is the first Romanian fair dedicated to premium wines. Created in 2016, with up to three events per year, RO-Wine brings thousands of wine lovers and HoReCa operators together with Romanian and international wine producers. The festival is a platform where end-customers can hear first-hand stories and fables about wine, with a chance to meet winemakers and business owners directly.
Founded in 2018, this networking hub provides a community-based professional development collective where members learn from each others’ experience, inspired by the exemplary values of Constantin Brâncoveanu, former Prince of Wallachia, and the Vinars (Romanian brandies) named after him.
As a wine consultant for Carrefour, Marinela plays a major role in choosing the best wineries and their best wines for the “We Open the Romanian Wine” program – a long-awaited project designed to promote Romanian wines and Romania’s image as a wine-producing country. On a long term, “We Open the Romanian Wine” aims at becoming an important support for local producers and their communities, ensuring a reliable regional or national market for all those who work to perpetuate Romania’s fine wine tradition.
Foss Marai Spumanti
Representing the prestigious Italian sparkling wine producer since 2010, Marinela started as their Business Developer in the Asia Pacific before becoming their export manager, from Peru to India and from Miami to Russia, including all of Europe. She is currently their Brand Manager and Business Developer for the Romanian and Hungarian markets.
As Global Brand Ambassador, Marinela represents a range of high-end brandies that are deeply linked to Romania’s traditions and history. Part of the larger Alexandrion Group, the Brâncoveanu brand draws its name and inspiration from the Age of Enlightenment ruler whose exemplary community spirit is emulated in the annual Brâncoveanu Galas.
Working along with one of the most prestigious viticulture research companies in the world, Giotto Consulting, with the purpose of defining and enhancing local grape varieties like Fetească Neagră or Negru de Drăgășani. This collaboration asks long-term strategizing, as Romania’s varieties’ treasure needs to be better defined and understood before being introduced to the international markets. An effort that takes time, but will definitely bear precious fruits.
Italian Chef Academy
In her capacity as a professor specialized in Sensory analysis and food & wine pairings, Marinela was selected by the Italian Chef Academy from among the best professionals in the Italian food and wine sector to teach professional development courses in food and wine pairings.
A regular speaker at this multidisciplinary event, Marinela has been crafting the wine experience of its 4-day-program as well as teaching hybrid, cross-generational workshops designed for this exclusive, Bucharest-based international festival.
Marinela is an annual judge for The Grand International Wine Awards and for the Meiningers International Spirits Award ISW in Germany.

Philosopher, essayist, journalist, literary and art critic
Mrs. Ardelean fully deserves our congratulations and fondness. She did, on her own, something that entire institutions were not good at. It is a real delight to glance through (envisaging prolonged tastings and the refined “bouquet” we can offer to the European Oenology) this new edition of the “Wine Book of Romania”. She talks not only about the mercantile potential of a gustatory “value” but also about a present that has to be sipped together with the past; about a potential source of pleasure.
Jean Richard de Latour
CEO of Carrefour Romania
When Carrefour launched the national program “We Open the Romanian Wine” in 2019, we invited Romanians to be part of a sincere conversation about local wine and what makes it so special. Marinela Ardelean accompanied us in the dialogue with small and medium producers in Romania and helped us to carefully select and promote the labels that exist in the DVR selection.
Thank you, Marinela, for the passion with which you constantly talk about the beauty of wine and the know-how of Romanian wineries.
Founder and President, Foss Marai Spumanti
Over the last decade, Marinela’s invariably fresh inputs and sharp insights have made her an important member of the Foss Marai Spumanti family. Rarely in my business have I had the pleasure of encountering someone who so naturally grasped the entirety of our brand history and intuitively propelled it forward with such authenticity, dynamism, and constant reinvention!
